Our Techniques
My approach to your health is not cookie-cutter. You are an individual with distinct health issues and needs. Therefore, my technique will vary depending on…well, YOU! Rest assured that on your first visit I make sure I have plenty of time to spend with you in order to get a complete history, perform a thorough examination, and talk to you in detail about your health, including answering your questions. Based on that experience I will tailor my technique to you.
Diversified
In general I use diversified adjusting. This means that I identify which spinal segments have lost their motion and then I use my hands to apply a specific thrust to restore the motion.
Activator
While I don’t often use the complete and specific Activator Method for evaluation and treatment, I do regularly use the hand held instrument for adjusting. The instrument delivers a consistent, low-force thrust to the spinal segment or surrounding tissue.
SOT
Sacro-Occipital Technique uses low force and gravity-assisted adjustments to correct body imbalances. I often incorporate portions of this technique into my treatment plans.
Other
In almost every treatment plan I use some type of soft tissue technique to release knots in muscles, break up adhesions, or stretch muscles and ligaments. I also usually give some type of homework, like a specific stretch or posture, to help you progress towards your treatment goal. I have no x-ray equipment in my office and do not routinely take x-rays. I do not use x-rays to evaluate where to adjust. Your health is of the utmost importance to me, and therefore I do not want to unnecessarily expose you to ionizing radiation.
If you have specific questions about techniques or prefer to be adjusted using a specific technique, please feel free to contact me.
